Super classes of all Components that are "lightweight" in the sense that they do not need all the Module features.

this class is NOT Serializable because many hardware access codes are native. If you want to make a subclass Serializable you'll have to do it explicitly.

It is abstract though there is no abstract method.
In case a developer does not want to inherit from it to create a Configurable the code of this class must be copied into the code.
